Financmial Counselling Australia has a new chair and two new directors. Anne Crouch, previously chair of the South Australian Financial Counsellors Association, will take over as chair from Carmel Franklin. Rob Benton, who has been a financial counsellor for 13 years, has been elected as a financial counselling director. The other new director is John ‘Wacka’ Williams, a former National Party Senator for New South Wales and a driving force behind the establishment of the Hayne royal commission.
Jocelyn Furlan has been re-appointed as chair of the Customer Owned Banking Code Compliance Committee for a second three-year term. She joined at the COBCCC by Prue Monument, who is the new general manager of Code Compliance and Monitoring. Monument, who is also general manager of code compliance at AFCA, was formerly executive director, quality assurance and regulatory operations, at the Tertiary Education Quality and Standard Agency.
After an exodus of senior staff, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand has announced the appointment of three new assistant governors. Kate Kolich will be GM of information, date and analytics from Feb 2022. Formerly at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority, Kolich also led data teams at BNZ for many years. Sarah Owen from the Guardians of NZ Superannuation will be the RBNZ’s first GM of Risk Compliance and Legal Services from March 2022. Greg Smith, who has been at the RBNZ since July this year, will be promoted to GM of Finance and Commercial Operations, replacing Mike Wolyncewicz when he leaves in May 2022.
