Payments company Novatti has announced that it will launch an Australian dollar-backed stablecoin, to be called AUDD, next month on the Stellar blockchain. It is the third such announcement it has made this year.
In May, Novatti announced that it would launch a stablecoin, to be called AUDC, on the Stellar blockchain.
A month later it announced that it would launch AUDC on the XRP Ledger.
In response to Banking Day’s inquiries, Novatti said it registered the names AUDC and AUDD, and switched to AUDD after being advised of a trademark complication.
It said it expects to offer AUDD on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum Blockchain in future.
As to November being a firm launch date, the company said it is receiving extensive technology support from Stellar and Ripple as part of their commitment to the launch.
