Affirmative action rules at CBA

Commonwealth Bank will adopt an affirmative action policy to lift the number of women in executive positions, the Financial Review reports. At least 65 per cent of new executive jobs will go to women, Ralph Norris, CBA's chief executive, told the newspaper.

Norris said the decision was not being made for public relations purposes, but because "we fundamentally believe it will make a difference to our business."

Last year, CBA set a goal of having 35 per cent of its most senior jobs filled by women - up from 28 per cent at present.
