ANZ flies the flag for syndicated loan league tables

The Thomson Reuters Asia-Pacific loan league tables for the calendar year to 30 November show that the list of top ten mandated arrangers (ex-Japan) across all currencies, by volume converted to US dollars, is split between Chinese and Australian banks, along with British banks HSBC and Standard Chartered and Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui.

ANZ, which has been involved in more deals than any other bank in the region, leads the charge for the Aussie banks, in third spot, ahead of Westpac (fifth spot) and NAB (sixth place).

The leaders' board is much the same for the top bookrunners' club (ex-Japan).

On the list of south-east Asia mandated arrangers and book runners, ANZ at number eight is the top Aussie bank, just ahead of a couple of other heavyweights: bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ and BNP Paribas.
