  • Residents of the New South Wales town of Walgett have complained about National Australia Bank's decision to close its branch in the drought-affected centre. According to an ABC report, NAB has scheduled the branch for closure. A local farmer and executive member of NSW Farmers Association, Cameron Rowntree, said the decision made a mockery of the bank's claim that it was committed to helping farmers deal with drought.
  • Westpac hired Tim Whitelely from Commonwealth Bank as its new head of application development, IT News reports. Whitelely worked as CBA's head of enterprise services for seven years until November 2013, when he left to join Boston Consulting Group as a technology director.
