Lending to other banks also attracts a low risk weight, of 20 per cent or less.
Commonwealth and ANZ, though, both hit the upper bounds of that ratio on their advanced portfolios reported in their pillar three disclosures, leading to questions over where they had been lending.
NAB reported a risk weight of 10 per cent, and so has been doing the safest bank lending with Westpac's ratio at 13 per cent.
