Financial System Inquiry release date slips back?

The release of the final report of the Financial System Inquiry may be slipping.

Inquiry chair David Murray was scheduled to speak on Monday, 1 December at the Committee for Economic Development of Australia - leading to a widely held assumption the report would be out on that day.

But the FSI secretariat advised yesterday that Murray will now speak a week later, at CEDA in Sydney on Monday, 8 December.

In his presentation, titled, " FSI - Supporting Australia's Economic Growth", Murray is expected to explain to a lunchtime audience his 'blueprint' for the financial system over the next decade.
