GE Capital may be seeking a buyer for its Australian credit insurance arm.
The Australian newspaper reported a sale could fetch the group around A$300 million.
The newspaper reported that Nomura has begun sounding out potential buyers for the capital insurance business, which trades through the Hallmark brand.
In an email sent on Friday, a GE spokesperson wrote that "we do not comment on market speculation. GE Capital is committed to its global strategy of becoming a more focussed financial services business in the A&NZ region and we regularly explore options consistent with this strategy."
