Hire Intelligence International, a business model built around the short-term rental of IT, audiovisual, videoconferencing equipment and facilities, yesterday reported a 20 per cent drop in net profit to $1.7 million for financial year 2008.

Revenue increased a fifth over the corresponding year to $11.5 million, as the cost of goods remained flat at $2.5 million, indicating either equipment purchased to rent had become cheaper, or simply less equipment was purchased.

No shares changed hands yesterday, last trading at 18 cents. Twelve-month highs are 57 cents and lows 13 cents, with the company having a market capitalisation of around $14 million.
