ingogo takes taxi to Xero

Australian payment provider ingogo has expanded its operations beyond its taxi booking app and wireless terminals, which the firm says have processed over $200 million worth of taxi transactions.

Yesterday ingogo said it had gone live with a second mobile payments product aimed at small to medium sized enterprises that use Xero accounting software. The system, Pay RIGHT AWAY, is available on iOS and Android.

Payments from major credit and debit cards will be accepted, using contactless technology such as Tap and Go and PayWave, along with full EFTPOS chip and PIN or magstripe. A 1.65 per cent transaction fee (GST inclusive) is incurred for all Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS cards during the process.

ingogo, which has completed several months of testing for its beta version, said next business day funds are transferred to the customer's nominated bank account.

The product was built in-house and is not a white-labelled solution.

"We have transacted thousands of payments using Pay RIGHT AWAY. Payments have ranged from just a few dollars through to A$9,000+ in a single transaction," ingogo said in an emailed response to questions.

"The application is built on the same core platform we use for ingogo to process taxi payments."
