No goodwill paid to RBS

ANZ paid no goodwill for the acquisition of three Royal Bank of Scotland businesses purchased over the March 2010 half and incorporated in its latest profit; in the Philippines, Vietnam and Hong Kong. ANZ has since completed an acquisition in Taiwan as well, the largest of the RBS business bought by ANZ.

The additional $1 billion in goodwill recognised in the ANZ accounts over the March 2010 half relates to the purchase of the 51 per cent of ING Australia that the bank did not already own.

ANZ also paid no goodwill to AWB for Landmark Financial Services.
