Briefs: Airwallex buys into HK payments, fleet manager launches ABS

• Fresh from its Series D fundraising, which attracted a further A$200 million in development funding, Airwallex has acquired Chinese payments player UniCard Solution Limited. Unicard already operates a payments card in the Hong Kong. In a media release announcing the deal, Airwallex said that it aims to launch various card payment products "that will support multi-currency, cross-border transactions ... in the coming year."

• In a note to fixed income investors, ANZ's global markets team said: "indications of interest are now being taken in relation to a potential FP TURBO Series 2021-1 Australian dollar auto asset-backed security transaction." The transaction, with ANZ as arranger and one of the joint lead managers alongside CBA, NAB and Westpac, will raise up to A$300 million for the ASX-listed vehicle fleet leasing and management outfit Eclipx Group, and is expected to launch and price next. Initial price guidance for the A$240 million Class A notes, is "70 base points over 1-month BBSW area".
