Briefs: New APRA member, Mortgage Choice CEO contract extended, Credit Corp director resigns

  • The Treasurer has appointed Margaret Cole as a new member of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. Cole was most recently global regulatory policy leader at PwC London and has had a senior role at the UK Financial Services Authority. She will take on primary responsibility for APRA’s superannuation regulation. APRA deputy chair Helen Rowell, who led regulation of superannuation for seven years, will take over general, life and private health insurance supervision.

 

  • Mortgage Choice has extended the employment agreement of its chief executive Susan Mitchell. Mitchell was chief financial officer at Mortgage Choice for nine years before being appointed CEO in April 2018. Her contract was due to expire in April but has been extended until October next year.

 

  • Credit Corp non-executive director John Nesbitt has resigned from the board, effective immediately. Nesbitt was chair of the audit and risk committee. Nesbitt’s career has included CFO roles at Perpetual and Suncorp.
