CBA unveiled the platform two week ago. The platform will work with a bespoke payments tablet that will be marketed to merchants next year. The degraded services experienced at around 95 branches of Commonwealth Bank at the end of last week was tied to " a disastrous misapplication of an operating system patch to thousands of desktop PCs and hundreds of servers", technology news site Delimiter reported. According to Delimiter, the patch "rendered unusable" thousands of desktop PCs and hundreds of Windows servers.
