Briefs: Westpac seeks marketing head, Bendigo community branches excel and BMW refunds insurance 21 June 2012 4:15PM Briefs, Damian Eales, head of marketing at Westpac, left the bank yesterday, the Australian Financial Review reports. The AFR speculated that the bank was already looking for (or has even selected) a new head of marketing. Westpac told the newspaper that Eales had resigned. The community bank branches of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank produced growth rates on deposits and loans 50 per cent greater than for the bank overall during the last year. The bank released an investor presentation yesterday that shows growth in deposits of 10.8 per cent over the year to March 2012, and growth in loans of 13.7 per cent. Bendigo has been growing below system on deposits and above system on loans. BMW Finance Australia will refund A$1.4 million to customers who were sold vendor-financed, three-year insurance premiums that covered damage to tyres and rims. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission said the National Credit Code prohibits lenders financing premiums where the insurance is for a period longer than 12 months.
