NAB limits links with Satyam

National Australia Bank yesterday advised technology staff that it would suspend aspects of its outsourcing relationship with Satyam, the Indian-based outsourcing firm found to have hidden substantial losses.

The Financial Review reported that NAB said it would continue to use Satyam for maintenance and support of some of its legacy software platforms.

The bank will suspend all work currently in the early stages of transition to Satyam.

NAB told The Australian that Satyam continues to meet service level commitments and contractual obligations.

The newspaper reported that NAB executives were considering ways to stop dealing with Satyam altogether, and to either bring the technology functions back in-house or outsource them to another firm.
