Problems recur 9 to 5 for NAB

National Australia Bank lost internet banking early yesterday. One early report, on ZDNet, put the blame on log-in problems.

Fixing the problem took out telephone banking for a time during the day. NAB bought back internet banking first and telephone banking later on.

Early reports put the as outage starting at 8.40am, with NAB firing out an announcement of resumption of services at just before 5pm.

The timeline for when NAB's services went offline and when they returned varied across media reports yesterday and this morning. The NAB's Twitter feed suggests the order and timing was as outlined above.

NAB offered no explanation for the fault in its media release other than to say there were "issues". It also made no mention of how the problem was resolved.
