Suncorp recovers as Brisbane River claims more call centres
It isn't clear how much down-time Suncorp experienced at its call centres because to the flooding in south-east Queensland this week. The company says it has recovered much of its capacity.
On Tuesday night, for a time at least according to its website, Suncorp could not take calls. But it managed to restore services yesterday.
The insurance and banking group got its Toowoomba call centre up and running yesterday. This took calls re-routed from its two Brisbane call centres, in Melton and the city, which had been put out of action.
Suncorp's website cautioned customers that while "alternative arrangements are in place and we are able to take calls, [but] due to the current high volume of calls there may be long delays.
The insurer asked customers with non-urgent inquiries to delay calling over the next two days.
