Around 200 more technology staff at Westpac may be transferred to IBM, though none are likely to lose their jobs.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported yesterday that the bank held two briefings with staff at the bank's St George division over the plan, which management still has under development.
The Financial Review reported a statement in the name of Westpac's general manager for service delivery infrastructure, Gary Sim, saying that no final decision had been made, that staff would continue to work in their current office (though for IBM rather than the bank) and that no-one would be worse off.
Westpac has a similar service arrangement in place with IBM for its core bank brand.
