Briefs: ANZ appoints CFO, BNPL consumer awareness soars

  • ANZ has found a permanent replacement for Michelle Jablko, who resigned from her role as chief financial officer in December and left the bank in March. The bank announced yesterday that Farhan Faruqui is taking over the role. Faruqui joined ANZ in 2014 as group executive international. Before joining ANZ he held a number of senior positions at Citigroup. Shane Buggle, Group general manager internal audit, served as acting CFO. He will retire from the bank when Faruqui takes over.

 

  • Consumer awareness of buy now pay later as a payment option has grown to 75.5 per cent of Australians over the age of 14, according to Roy Morgan. Awareness has grown 39.6 percentage points over the past three years. Afterpay has the highest level of awareness, followed by Zip, Latitude Pay, humm and Openpay.
