Briefs: Novatti CFO quits, Suncorp goes all out on cloud migration

  • Novatti Group chief financial officer Steve Stamboultgis has resigned and will leave the company at the end of March. Stamboultgis has been with Novatti since before its listing in 2016. In November, its subsidiary International Bank of Australia was granted a restricted authorised deposit-taking institution licence, and Novatti aims to progress IBA to a full banking licence as soon as a year (or less) from now.

  • Suncorp has signed an agreement with Microsoft that will further its move into the cloud. Suncorp has a long-standing relationship with Microsoft and the new deal will see it migrate 90 per cent of its workload to the cloud by the end of 2023. A Suncorp spokesperson was coy about confirming that the banking division, to be sold to ANZ, is included in the agreement, saying only that “the Microsoft partnership is with the Suncorp Group”. We’ll take that as a yes.
