Briefs: Debelle gets another term, BNK chair stands down, change at Change Financial

  • Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has reappointed Guy Debelle as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank. Debelle has been deputy governor of the RBA since 2016 and will serve another five years in the role. Frydenberg also reappointed RBA board member Ian Harper, dean of the Melbourne Business School, for another five years.

 

  • BNK Banking Corp chair Jon Sutton is stepping down from the group’s board, effective immediately. BNK said in a statement that Sutton is resigning form the position because of his commitments as chief executive of Scottish Pacific. He was BNK’s chair for two years. Deputy chair Don Koch will take over as chair.

 

  • Payments company Change Financial has appointed Tony Sheehan as its chief financial officer. His previous roles include senior positions at Global Payments Australia and New Zealand.
