Briefs: Euro banks hold Asian bank stakes and NAB picks European director 12 October 2012 5:25PM Briefs, European banks are resisting pressure to sell their stakes in listed Asian banks, the Financial Times reported. The FT said the banks with the biggest stakes in Asian financial groups - BBVA, BNP Paribas, Caixabank, Deutsche Bank and Santander - are not selling their minority holdings in banks such as Bank of East Asia, Shinsei Bank, China Citic Bank, Bank of Nanjing and Hua Xia Bank. Clydesdale Bank has appointed Jim Pettigrew as a non-executive director. Pettigrew will also join the board of National Australia Group Europe and will chair both boards' audit committees. Pettigrew was, until recently, chief executive of CMC Markets.
