Business banking sentiment steady

Business banking customer satisfaction ratings have levelled out, after falling sharply from late 2008 until the middle of this year.

The latest TNS business banking customer satisfaction report, released yesterday, shows a very small pickup is ratings over the past six months, following a heavy fall in the previous 18 months.

ANZ leads the pack among the big four, with a 72.2 per cent satisfaction rating, followed by Westpac (71.7 per cent), Commonwealth Bank (68.1 per cent) and National Australia Bank (67.9 per cent).

Bendigo & Adelaide bank leads the second tier banks, with an 89.8 per cent satisfaction rating, followed by Bank of Queensland (81.4 per cent), Suncorp (80.1 per cent) and St George (73.2 per cent).

The DBM Business Financial Services Monitor, also out yesterday, puts Westpac at the head of the pack, followed by Commonwealth Bank, ANZ and NAB.

The DBM survey also shows a stable trend in business customer satisfaction ratings.

DBM managing director Dhruba Gupta said satisfaction with business banks had been steady for most of the year.
