Holding company proposed for Suncorp

29 October 2010 5:43PM

Suncorp Metway yesterday set in train the process for its long-mooted shift to a non-operating holding company structure.

A shareholder meeting to consider a scheme of arrangement to give effect to the plan will be held on 15 December, the group said yesterday.

Macquarie Group and MyState Financial are the only two financial conglomerates operating under similar holding company structures at present.
