From fifth to fourth and first Up

Ian Rogers

Getting bigger and better and brighter in banking. This is the motto of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, as its Up Bank prodigy invents a drastically different story for the bank's owners.

Dominic Pym, from Ferocia (Bendigo's partner in Up) was nothing but confidence and method when Banking Day interviewed him recently.

Dom Pym is everywhere.  All over PR via the conference circuit and doing it right, making his business Up as well-known as it can possibly could.

Up Bank, Australia's number one fintech by a mile, will be bigger than Bendigo before long.

Ferocia, a South Melbourne technology disruptor, runs foremost off the brains of former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas as well as Pym, and it is within their city-side HQ that Bendigo Bank is finding the best of its value story.

There were 12 app updates for Up in one day this year, and five or six a day is routine. As opposed with the four releases a year not to so long ago at St George, meaning Westpac.

Our final question for Dom was: "Before you had any financial services clients, what was the vision for the business?"

"To be the best technology company in the world."
