NAB exec likely choice as ALP National Secretary

George Wright, general manager of public affairs at National Australia Bank is likely to be appointed National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party, numerous media outlets reported last night and this morning.

Wright joined NAB in 2009, after working for a time in the office of the former Labor prime minister, Kevin Rudd.

His primary credentials stem from his time heading the campaign team at the Australian Council of Trade Unions, where he's credited with playing a key role in the "Your Rights at Work" campaign of 2006 and 2007. He worked for the Finance Sector Union prior to that.
