Post steps up financial services sales effort

Australia Post will allocate more space in some post offices to sales of financial services Post's chief executive, Ahmed Fahour, told the Financial Review.

The increased space will be made available at a small number of "super stores" Post will establish in select commercial centres.

The product set being sold by Post will, however, remain the same as now. This includes foreign exchange, some insurance products and identity services as well as the long established agency business for scores of deposit taking entities.

"Financial services is a very important part of our financial proposition and a very important part of our growth strategy," Fahour told the AFR.
