Netbank not available and not working when available 01 July 2009 3:06PM Jason Bryce CBA customers were either denied access altogether yesterday by the denial of service attack, or when the site was online it didn't seem to be talking to the ATM or branch networks of Commonwealth Bank. Customers who were able to get on yesterday got this message:"We have identified that some transactions (eg an ATM or branch withdrawal) are not displaying on some accounts such as Streamline or Debit MasterCard. This is currently being investigated as a high priority. "If you need to obtain the details of these transactions, please use our transaction search feature. Simply click on the view accounts tab, click on search transactions, select your account and enter up to a two week date range. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."CBA spokesperson Nichole Ismay offered an explanation of sorts for the lack of service and the low service quality this week."To maintain the integrity of our customer information and our systems it is necessary to prioritise workload and demand based on transaction importance and to balance that with caution," Ismay wrote."Consequently, there have been planned intermittent periods where NetBank has been unavailable. We will continue to keep customers fully informed and regret any inconvenience caused."
